According to a press release, BitPay, the world’s largest cryptocurrency payment service provider, will launch two new cryptocurrencies, ApeCoin and Euro Coin.
The BitPay Wallet program now allows users to buy, store, trade, and spend coins.
Furthermore, companies who use BitPay will be able to accept the coins as payment.
Gucci will be the first shop to take ApeCoin through BitPay, adding it to the ten cryptocurrencies already accepted at the majority of its outlets.
ApeCoin is the native currency for the massively popular Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection, which is a part of Yuga Labs.
The token will be the primary money used across the Ape ecosystem, which includes a variety of games and communities.
APE holders may now instantly change their ApeCoin into cash and buy gift cards for stores, in addition to making BitPay purchases.
“We created ApeCoin and Euro Coin because clients of our upmarket merchant partners pleaded for it,” said Stephen Pair, CEO of BitPay. “We gave them what they asked for,”
Circle released Euro Coin, a stablecoin backed by the euro. It provides minimal transaction fees, cross-border access to the euro, and swift settlement.
