AvidXchange has made an application programming interface (API) connectivity for invoice-to-pay with Intuit QuickBooks Online accessible.

Customers of QuickBooks Online now have access to a completely automated, end-to-end, cloud-based accounts payable (AP) and payment system, according to a news release from AvidXchange on Tuesday, December 6.

“This is an exciting new integration for us, as well as the middle market as a whole, as we expand our capabilities across more established platforms,” AvidXchange Chief Growth Officer Dan Drees said in the press release.

The new service, according to the press release, enables automated syncing of accounting codes, vendor information, invoices, and payments, saving customers the time they would otherwise spend manually handling these AP tasks.

Because it enables the AP process to be carried out through a cloud-based platform, the solution also provides additional visibility and transparency into payment data so that customers can learn from each transaction, according to the announcement.

By enabling digital payments to suppliers, the solution, according to the announcement, also reduces consumers’ need to buy envelopes, stamps, paper checks, and make trips to the bank.

Three months ago, AvidXchange introduced API connectivity with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, a cloud-based accounting solution geared toward the charity industry.

Nine out of ten chief financial officers (CFOs) reported that their businesses were either investing in payments digitization presently or had plans to do so in the future, according to a study.
