Corporate payment company FLEETCOR announced that it will acquire Roomex, a provider of employee housing in Europe. The company will be able to build its hotel division and go global thanks to this transaction.
600 people work with Roomex, and they have stayed in hotels for 50,000 nights. Dublin, Ireland is home to the company’s corporate headquarters.
Reservations may be made for visitors at 45,000 hotels, the majority of which are found in the United States, via FLEETCOR’s lodging section. Customers gain from this division’s discounts, particular controls, and streamlined invoicing.
Roomex “provides us a very comparable workforce housing business in Europe,” claims Ron Clarke, chairman, and CEO of FLEETCOR Technologies, Inc.
Levarti, an airline software provider that offers services for automating passenger disruptions such as passenger warnings, aircraft rebookings, hotel accommodations, transfers, and vouchers, was recently acquired by FLEETCOR.
International airlines looking to automate their operations embraced the MAX software suite, released by Levarti in 2014. Through the use of the program, passengers may check in, make contactless payments while on the flight, and collect their bags all digitally.
According to a statement made at the time by Clarke, the acquisition would offer a “complementary solution to further automate and expedite passenger disruption scenarios for our airline clients.”
Other hotel technology news includes a partnership between specialized payment platform Paysafe and cloud-based software partner HotelKey to offer seamless hotel payments for both front-of-house and back-of-house activities.
The partnership aims to simplify all hotel channels, including the front desk, bars, restaurants, gift shops, on-site events, and catering, for both card-present and card-not-present purchases done in person. Additionally, it would help hotels pay for operational necessities like food and beverage orders and cleaning materials.
