After seven years without an increase, Salesforce will increase the average list price worldwide by 9% in August.

In a press statement made on Tuesday, July 11, Salesforce announced pricing hikes for its Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Industry, and Tableau products.

The company stated in the release that since its last list price increase seven years ago, it has delivered 22 new releases, thousands of new features, including recent advancements in generative [artificial intelligence (AI)] technologies, and spent more than $20 billion on research and development.

According to the press release, the new list prices for Professional Edition will be $80 (up $5), Enterprise Edition will be $165 (up $15), and Unlimited Edition will be $330 (up $30) for all new and current customers purchasing new clouds.

Due to the amount of computer power they demand, generative AI capabilities may increase the price of tech companies’ products, according to a Tuesday Bloomberg article.

Many software vendors have suffered significant price hikes this year, with procurement company Vendr saying that its clients have seen an increase of 35% since 2022.

Salesforce announced in June that it has launched AI Cloud, a set of features intended to enable real-time generative AI experiences across apps and processes inside the platform. This was one of Salesforce’s most recent acquisitions.

With the help of this new set of features, sales people may automatically create customised emails that are catered to the needs of their clients, and support staff can create unique chat responses and case summaries.

Salesforce released a healthcare-specific version of its Commerce Cloud in April, featuring a HIPAA-compliant platform that aims to simplify and lower the cost of healthcare commerce.
